tassels!

I tried to think of a reason why we would need to purchase one of these amazing confetti system tassel garlands. Of course it was easy to think of reasons - the garland is a perfect addition to any party, but these pricey garlands didn't quite seem worth the cost. But I knew if I waited long enough, someone with an ounce of creativity would post a DIY tutorial. The wait is over - thanks to oh happy day!

loving this look: fur for fall

1/2/3/4
I love love love the look of fur (faux of course) for fall this year. The trend started last winter with the fur vest, but I'm just catching onto the trend and can't get enough of it! Adding a fur wrap, or a fur collar on a trench or sweater makes any outfit look glamorous. These are some fur pieces I've had my eye on for my closet...
seriously adding this trench to my wish list, and the best part is it is under $150!
or I could add this faux fur collar to a trench I already have...decisions...decisions...

okanagan trip

We went to Kelowna for a few days to get away  - and it was exactly what we needed! We enjoyed wineries, meeting with friends and most importantly, enjoying each other's company.

our first stop - mission hill! Not my favorite wine, but definitely the most beautiful winery.
loved all the flowers at the winery - those light pink garden roses may be a possibility for the wedding!

We got to visit my FAVORITE winery - Dirty Laundry. It is built on a 19th century chinese laundromat, which fronted for a brothel - hence the name. There are fun wine names like - 'hush, hush' and 'naughty chardonnay'.
wine is life - amen!
my favorite thing about dirty laundry is their beautiful patio overlooking the vineyard. Its the perfect spot for a picnic
...and a pretty spray painted wall we found in penticton

Can't wait to go back. Would love to make it to the okanagan wine festival at the end of september.

candy bar spoons

Finding miniature scoops and tongs for candy bars is not the easiest task. You'd think with the popularity of candy bars at weddings and parties you'd be able to find them anywhere. Emily, who is incredibly crafty and creative, suggested using old spoons and using letter punches to write messages on the spoons. I thought that sounded like a perfect idea, and to my delighted surprise she made some for me - and they are gorgeous! I needed to take some photos and share them below. Now, amongst other vintage items on my list, I am on the hunt for the largest old silver spoons I can find!
